Note: This product is available in two colour options: Blueware or Greenware (see below for more details) The Design This print "Antiquities in Ireland" is taken from an 1818 engraving by the engraver C.Warren. The image appears in the publication "The Scientific Tourist through Ireland.". The image is a composite view of seven key sites in Ireland, as promoted in the early days of tourism. Two figures in the foreground , one seated and clearly sketching. Each of the sites is numbered and identified in the 'List of Illustrations'. They are: 1. Oratory near Killaloe; 2. Round Tower at Swords; 3. Sculptured Cross at Monasterboice; 4. Chapel, Round Tower and Cathedral, Cashel; 5. Hook Tower; 6. Giant's Causeway; 7. Mountains as they appear from Dunlow Castle, Lake of Killarney. Each Ceramic Print is individually produced ensuring attention to detail and uniqueness - no two are exactly the same. The images are printed and pressed one at a time onto our specially coated ceramic art tile with a printed faux crackle glaze effect. The effect gives a lovely warmth and antique character to the piece. Blueware / Delftware Colour Option You can have the image reproduced as a Blueware (Delftware) tile. This means all the colours are reproduced with a cobalt blue wash. These distinctive tiles in their characteristic blue and white give an added warmth to the product. a real feeling of history and familiarity. Greenware Colour Option Inspired by the 16th Century Delft tiles, our Greenware colour option reproduces the images with an traditional Irish Emerald Green wash. These unique pieces are distinctively Irish and are full of character and interest.
